The explosive growth of disc golf would certainly not be possible if it was not for the hard work of our local and regional promoters.

And when it comes to the growth of disc golf in the Toledo, Ohio region, no one has done more than Mark Kruse. His dedication to the sport has manifested itself in the form of running tournaments, supporting women in the sport, youth education programs, and growing community sponsorships.

His list of accomplishments include raising significant funds for course improvements, donating disc golf targets to area schools, handing out new discs and bags to the younger players who find their way to the disc golf course, and providing great players' packs for all the women who play in his events in the Toledo area.

Mark's work has been so impressive, that he was nominated by both Mary Egbert and Becky Gilbert, who sing his praises. The way Mary describes it, "Mark is one of the BEST tournament directors I have ever seen. He would literly give the shirt off his back if you needed it."

Becky goes on about Mark explaining, "He takes the time to chat with us and make us feel welcome. It's not always about the boys! His other focus is on the young new player, Mark has been a mentor in getting and keeping them involved." That's high praise indeed for Mark Kruse, who is obviously highly respected in his disc golf region and carries the spirit of disc golf with him wherever he goes!
